Fresh Pico de Gallo
Fresh pico de gallo is a simple chopped salsa made with ripe tomatoes, onion, cilantro, jalapeno, lime juice, and salt. It is bright, crisp, and perfect for tacos, bowls, grilled meats, or tortilla chips.
This recipe is all about quick, clean chopping. A magnetic knife holder keeps your prep knife easy to access while leaving more space on the counter for your cutting board and ingredients.
Best for: taco night, snacks, toppings, fresh prep
Tool used: magnetic knife holder
Prep time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 4 ripe tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 white onion, finely chopped
- 1 jalapeno, finely chopped
- 1/3 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 lime, juiced
- Salt, to taste
How to Make It
Dice the tomatoes and finely chop the onion, jalapeno, and cilantro.
Add everything to a bowl. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top and season with salt.
Stir gently, then let it sit for 5-10 minutes so the flavors can come together.
Prep Tip
For a milder pico de gallo, remove the seeds from the jalapeno before chopping. For the freshest texture, serve the same day.
