Chicken Teriyaki Rice Bowl
A warm chicken teriyaki rice bowl is one of the easiest meals to pack for work, school, road trips, or long shifts. It reheats well in an electric lunch box and gives you a balanced meal with rice, protein, and vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked white rice
- 1 cooked chicken breast or thigh, sliced
- 1/2 cup broccoli florets
- 1/3 cup shredded or sliced carrots
- 2-3 tbsp teriyaki sauce
- Sesame seeds
- Chopped green onions
How to Pack It
Add the rice to the bottom of your lunch box container. Place sliced chicken on top, then add broccoli and carrots on the side. Drizzle with teriyaki sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
How to Heat
Plug in your electric lunch box about 25-30 minutes before lunch. For the best texture, add a small spoonful of water or extra sauce before heating if the rice was refrigerated overnight.
Meal Prep Tip
Use fully cooked chicken and rice, then store the meal in the refrigerator until ready to pack. This recipe works especially well for weekly meal prep because the sauce keeps the chicken flavorful after reheating.
